Experience the epitome of sophistication and craftsmanship with Shibui Single Grain Whisky Bourbon Cask Matured, aged for a decade to perfection. This distinguished expression embodies the essence of Japanese whisky-making tradition, meticulously crafted with precision and care.

Shibui Single Grain Whisky begins its journey with a selection of the finest grains, expertly sourced and milled to exacting standards. The mash bill, featuring a single grain variety, sets the foundation for the whisky's unique flavor profile.

After fermentation, the whisky is distilled in traditional copper pot stills, a hallmark of Japanese whisky craftsmanship. This careful distillation process ensures purity and clarity, allowing the spirit's character to shine through.

The whisky is then matured for a minimum of 10 years in charred American oak barrels, previously used to age bourbon. During this time, the whisky undergoes a transformative journey, absorbing the rich flavors and aromas from the wood, while developing its own distinctive character.

In the glass, Shibui Single Grain Whisky Bourbon Cask Matured 10 Yr 80 exudes a warm amber hue, hinting at its maturity and complexity. On the nose, aromas of caramel, vanilla, and toasted oak greet the senses, inviting anticipation of what's to come.

On the palate, this whisky delights with its smooth and velvety texture. Flavors of caramelized sugar, honey, and baking spices dance across the tongue, while hints of dried fruit and oak add depth and complexity. The whisky's well-balanced sweetness is complemented by a touch of oak tannins, leading to a long and satisfying finish.

Perfect for savoring neat or on the rocks, Shibui Single Grain Whisky Bourbon Cask Matured 10 Yr 80 is a true testament to the artistry of Japanese whisky-making. Whether enjoyed as a moment of reflection or shared with friends, it promises a sensory journey that celebrates the harmony of flavor and craftsmanship.

Distillery Information

Distilled at the oldest distillery in Okinawa & matured in the finest American Ex-Bourbon Barrels, Shibui Single Grain 10 Year Old Bourbon Cask Matured Japanese Whisky delivers the perfect balance of sweet & spice.
Blended & bottled in Niigata, Japan, this 100% malt whisky is matured in American ex bourbon, Oloroso sherry & rare Japanese Mizunara Oak.
This has a copacetic nose of dry spices, pepper, sandy seashells, and Whoppers, but it's the comforting, warming flavors—applesauce, cream, malted chocolate-chip cookies, cinnamon, brown sugar, and spiced gingerbread—that really unmask its full potential.
Despite this overall similar taste with Scotch, Japanese whisky doesn't have a single flavor profile. Due to its historical links to Scotch, some bottles are peaty and earthy. On the other hand, others are more restrained and subdued.
Japanese whisky is modeled after the scotch tradition—double distilling malted and/or peated barley—before it's aged in wood barrels. As opposed to the sweeter American bourbons and ryes, they tend to be drier, smokier, and peatier, and come as single malts or blends.
Description. Sourced from an award-winning distillery in Niigata, Shibui Pure Malt 10YR old is a marriage of whisky made from 100% malted barley. Multi-cask maturation and aged for 10 years, these whiskies balance perfectly to ignite the palate.
