Introducing Green Spot Irish Whiskey – a true embodiment of Ireland's rich whiskey heritage and a celebration of exceptional craftsmanship. Nestled in the heart of the Emerald Isle, Green Spot is a testament to the artistry and passion that defines Irish whiskey production.

Crafted by the renowned Midleton Distillery, Green Spot is a single pot still whiskey that seamlessly marries tradition with innovation. Distilled using a unique combination of malted and unmalted barley, this expression delivers a distinctively smooth and flavorful profile that sets it apart in the world of Irish whiskey.

The name "Green Spot" pays homage to the practice of marking casks with a spot of colored paint to indicate their aging potential. In this case, the green spot signifies a minimum of seven years maturation in a combination of ex-bourbon and sherry casks. This careful aging process imparts a golden hue and a remarkable depth of character to the whiskey.

On the nose, Green Spot captivates with a harmonious blend of orchard fruits, such as apples and pears, complemented by a subtle hint of floral notes. The palate unfolds a symphony of flavors, with creamy vanilla, honey, and a touch of spice dancing on the taste buds. The smooth and velvety texture makes each sip a luxurious experience, while the lingering finish leaves a warm, satisfying sensation.

Whether enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or as a key ingredient in classic cocktails, Green Spot Irish Whiskey promises an authentic taste of Ireland in every glass. The distinctive green bottle, adorned with the iconic pot still label, reflects the brand's commitment to quality and tradition.

For those seeking a whiskey that encapsulates the essence of Irish craftsmanship and the beauty of the land, Green Spot is the embodiment of a timeless spirit. Elevate your whiskey experience with Green Spot – where heritage meets innovation in a glass of pure, liquid gold.

Distillery Information

Green Spot is a single pot still Irish whiskey, produced specifically for Mitchell & Son of Dublin by Irish Distillers at the Midleton Distillery in Cork, Ireland. Green Spot is one of the few remaining bonded Irish whiskeys, along with Mitchell's three older offerings, Yellow Spot, Red Spot, and Blue Spot.
By heating the wash still to a certain temperature, the lighter alcohol evaporates and rises to the top in the neck of the still. The rest of the wash remains in the still. The alcohol vapour is then cooled and collected in spirit receivers. To obtain whiskey, the process must be repeated.
In distillation, the still is heated to just below the boiling point of water and the alcohol and other compounds vaporise and pass over the neck of the still into either a condenser or a worm – a large copper coil immersed in cold running water where the vapour is condensed into a liquid.
The distillation process generally involves three main steps: The conversion of the desired liquid from a mixture into vapour. The condensation of the purified liquid. The collection of the condensed liquid.
