Distillery Information

Golden Moon Principium is distilled from 100% malted barley, grown in Colorado and the surrounding states, and malted in Golden, Colorado. It is mashed, fermented, distilled at Golden Moon distillery, and aged in New American Oak casks. It is then bottled at 46% ABV (92 Proof).
Golden Moon Distillery owner and master distiller Stephen Gould announced that he intends to sell the Golden Moon Distillery located in Golden, Colorado. While distillation processes have been used around the globe for centuries, the first distillation of whiskey as we know it today took place in Scotland or Ireland in the early 1000s AD. From there, whiskey production grew in popularity, spreading to the Americas with European colonists.
The basics, according to Encyclopedia Britannica: Whiskey (or whisky) can be any of a variety of distilled liquors that are made from a fermented mash of cereal grains and aged in wooden containers, which are usually constructed of oak. Commonly used grains are corn, barley malt, rye, and wheat.
