Introducing Plymouth Sloe Gin – a timeless expression of craftsmanship and tradition that captures the essence of the English countryside in every sip. Meticulously crafted by the renowned Plymouth Gin Distillery, this exquisite Sloe Gin is a harmonious blend of tradition, quality, and natural flavors.

Our Sloe Gin begins its journey with handpicked sloe berries, carefully selected for their plumpness and ripeness. These luscious berries are then infused with Plymouth Gin, creating a marriage of flavors that unfolds over time. The slow maceration process allows the rich, deep-red hue and the distinctive fruity notes to develop, resulting in a spirit that is both complex and delightfully smooth.

The aroma of Plymouth Sloe Gin is a captivating medley of ripe berries, with hints of almond and a subtle juniper undertone, inviting you to savor the experience. As you take your first sip, the velvety sweetness of the sloe berries unfolds on your palate, complemented by the warmth of carefully balanced botanicals from the classic Plymouth Gin recipe. The finish is long and satisfying, leaving a lingering impression of the natural richness and depth that only time-honored craftsmanship can achieve.

Enjoy Plymouth Sloe Gin on its own over ice, allowing the flavors to evolve and dance on your taste buds. Distillery Information

Plymouth Sloe Gin is distilled at the oldest working gin distillery in England, Black Friars, and is crafted with a selection of key botanicals including orris root, juniper, angelica root, orange peel, green cardamom, lemon peel, coriander seed and sloe berries.
It is the only remaining gin distillery in Plymouth. The building, constructed in 1431, has been in operation as a gin distillery since 1793. It opens onto what is now Southside Street. The established distilling business of Fox & Williamson began the distilling of the Plymouth brand in 1793.
The main ingredient of sloe gin is the sloe berry and gin is derived from the juniper berry. Sloe gin can have a lower alcohol content than gin. Gin is less sweet than sloe gin. Gin is made from traditional distillation processes while sloe gin is made from mixing sugar and sloe berries and steeping in gin.Black Friars Distillery, the working home of Plymouth Gin since 1793, is the oldest working gin distillery in England and is situated in the heart of the historic port city of Plymouth.
The history of sloe gin stretches back centuries, with its roots deeply embedded in rural England. It was once a closely held family secret, passed down from generation to generation. Foragers scoured hedgerows and woodlands for the small, deep-purple sloe berries, a distant cousin of the plum.
