Distillery Information

This white wine is fermented partially in stainless steel and partially in oak barrels. This creates aromas and flavors of apple, lemon curd and vanilla with a clean, refreshing finish.
The wine's classic flavor descriptors include green apple, fig and citrus, with medium-to-full body, complex aroma and moderate acidity. Chardonnay is often aged in oak to produce vanilla and toast overtones.
Chardonnay originated in the Burgundy region of France, and takes its name from a small town in the Maconnais, an area in southern Burgundy that makes relatively inexpensive, high-value chardonnays.Murphy-Goode California Cabernet Sauvignon Red Wine is sourced from select California vineyards. This Murphy-Goode Cabernet Sauvignon red wine combines flavors of blackberry, cassis and thyme for the perfect full bodied red wine.
Wineries typically employ winemakers to produce various wines from grapes by following the winemaking process. This process involves the fermentation of fruit, as well as blending and aging of the juice. The grapes may be from vineyards owned by the winery or may be brought in from other locations.
Murphy-Goode is led today by winemaker Dave Ready, Jr., the son of one of the winery's founders.
Oaked Chardonnay undergoes a natural chemical called malolactic fermentation when the wine is stored in oak barrels. This fermentation causes the malic acid found in unoaked Chardonnay, which produces fruity flavors, to change into lactic acid, a quality usually found in milk.
