Big Level Bourbon is a wheated bourbon 100% mashed, distilled, aged, proofed, and bottled at the Smooth Ambler distillery in West Virginia. No chill filtration. Grains from a variety of sources. 3000, 53-gallon barrels per year.
Located in the rural Greenbrier Valley of West Virginia, Smooth Ambler uses state-of-the-art distillery equipment in conjunction with natural resources of the region: high-valley mountain air, natural waters, ideal temperature variations and friendly folks.
Wheat will add flavors of vanilla, honey, caramel, toasted oak, toffee, and even flavors like vanilla ice cream and bananas foster. Adding wheat to bourbon will add a subtle sweetness and smoothness that makes drinking a wheated bourbon whiskey a pleasure with every sip.
Big Level Bourbon is a wheated bourbon 100% mashed, distilled, aged, proofed, and bottled at the Smooth Ambler distillery in West Virginia.Some might see it as a slightly flavor-neutral grain, but its defenders believe that wheat retains its flavor over the course of extreme aging (10 to 20 years). So a wheated bourbon still contains at least 51% corn (typically 70 to 80%), but the remainder of the balance will be divided between barley and wheat.
