Distillery Information

Clase Azul Tequila is made at Productos Finos de Agave at Nom 1416, in the Jesus Maria region of Arandas in Los Altos (highlands), Jalisco, Mexico from 100% Tequilana Weber Agave. Clase Azul is owned by Arturo Lomeli (Casa Tradicion), who also doubles as the master distiller.
While some distilleries make just one Tequila, others might produce several. “Drinkers may not realize that the 3,000-plus Tequila brands on the market today come from fewer than 200 distilleries,” explains Jim Ruane, chief growth officer of Cierto Tequila. All Clase Azul is produced using 100% Blue Agave. The piñas are cooked for 72 hours in stone ovens, pressed using a roller mill and fermented in stainless steel tanks using proprietary yeasts. The wash is then twice distilled in Copper Pot stills.
This Mezcal is made from Cenizo Agave, a rare variety that grows wild in the state of Durango in Northern Mexico.
