Distillery Information

Rye whiskey must contain a minimum of 51% rye if it is made in the United States, although it can be as much as 100% rye. The whiskey must also be aged in new charred oak barrels for a minimum of two years and cannot be distilled to more than 80% ABV or 160 proof.It is combined with an "alcohol flavoring formulation" from Clarendon Flavor Engineers referred to as “blenders”, which are added to make it taste as close as possible to original recipe from prohibition era and bottled at the distillery in Templeton, Iowa.
Knob Creek is an American brand of Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey produced by Beam Suntory (a subsidiary of Suntory Holdings of Osaka, Japan) at the Jim Beam distillery in Clermont, Kentucky. It is one of the four Jim Beam small batch bourbon brands targeted for the high-end liquor market.
In the United States, rye whiskey is, by law, made from a mash of at least 51 percent rye. (The other ingredients in the mash are usually corn and malted barley.) It is distilled to no more than 160 U.S. proof (80% abv) and aged in charred, new oak barrels.
