Don Abraham Organico Tequila is a 100% organic agave product. Elaborated in the traditional antique process, strictly controlled to obtain the best and finest quality. Don Abraham Organico uses 100% organically farmed blue agave plants that originate from one of the finest growing regions in all of Jalisco, Mexico.
Tequila (/təˈkiːlə/; Spanish: [teˈkila]) is a distilled beverage made from the blue agave plant, primarily in the area surrounding the city of Tequila 65 km (40 mi) northwest of Guadalajara, and in the Jaliscan Highlands (Los Altos de Jalisco) of the central western Mexican state of Jalisco.
After harvest, the agave is slow roasted in a clay oven, shredded on a roller mill, fermented with a wild natural open air process, distilled twice with well water in stainless steel tanks with copper parts.
Sitting 6500 feet above sea level, the highlands of Jalisco is where it all began. It's in this extreme climate, surrounded by rich volcanic soil, where the legendary distillery of La Primavera was founded and Don Julio Tequila was born.
The first distillation process takes place in steel distillation columns, during which water is removed and alcohol is concentrated from fermented agave juice. The second distillation takes place in stills to obtain tequila with a range of 55-65% alcohol, depending on the brand.
During the tequila production process for blanco tequila, it is distilled from blue Weber agave grown in Jalisco, one of five different western states in Mexico. If you want a true blanco, look for brands that are labeled blue agave. For those who enjoy a margarita, a blanco tequila is usually the way to go.
